A quick comercial, showing some surface transformation from a small car to formula1 racer.
The job was to animate and render one shot right from the start just with an idea of how this may look like in the end.
For this task i did a simple script to speed up the process of animating symetrical parts quick, and being able to adapt quickly to changes without the need to change too many curves. This was needed due to the fact that 3dsmax offers no tool to mirror any anim curve precisely.
The result was a simple helper based approach, where each part was parented to its helper, then animated by hand to achive the retracting parts for the small car. If the parts had symetry one would be able to just copy and mirror it, then using the script to flip the curve exactly at any point, leaving a clean and quick symetrical animation.
